About Stella Maris

Stella Maris is an International Maritime Charity, supporting seafarers, fishers, and their families with over 220 chaplains and 750 volunteers providing around-the-clock support to visiting seafarers across 54 countries.

For Mobile App Users:

Go to Apps as shown in the image below. Then click on Catalog, search for Stella Maris and tap on install.

Once the application is launched, you are shown two menu options:

a) Find a Chaplain: With this menu option, a seafarer can get in touch with a nearby chaplain. Ensure that your GPS/location is on when you tap on this option.

b) Faith resources: This menu option allows you to easily access 

1. Prayer Book
2. Special Prayers
3. Video Prayers

• How to search for a chaplain?

A seafarer can locate a nearby chaplain using two methods.

1. Map View

• Tap on Find a Chaplain.

• Type the name of the place/port/country where you currently are. The map will then pinpoint your location and show information about chaplains near you.

• Tap on the grey pins for chaplain details (Email, Port, Country and Phone)

2. List View

When you toggle from the “Map View” to “List View”, you will be able to see a list of all the chaplains available for support.

- Tap on the List icon as shown in the image above.

- Type the name of the place/port/country where you currently are.

- A list of chaplains near you will then be displayed. 

- Tap on the chaplain’s name to view their details.

• Satellite View and Vector View of the Map

You can see the World Map in both Satellite View and Vector View. 

To switch from Vector View to Satellite View, tap on the Settings icon as shown in the image below.

For Web App Users

To open the Stella Maris application, please click on the Stella Maris icon on the left in the application marketplace as shown in the image below.

Once the application is launched, you are shown two menu options:

• How to search for a chaplain?

A seafarer can locate a nearby chaplain using two methods.

1. Map view

• Type the name of the place/port/country where you currently are.
• The map will then pinpoint your location.
• Tap on the red pin for chaplain details (Email, Port, Country and Phone)

2. List view

When you toggle from the “Map View” to “List View”, you will be able to see a list of all the chaplains available for support.

• Tap on the List icon as shown in the image above.
• Type the name of the place/port/country where you currently are.
• A list of chaplains near you will then be displayed. 
• Tap on the chaplain’s name to view their details.

• Satellite View and Vector View of the Map

You can see the World Map in both Satellite View and Vector View.
